Iron Man 3: Photos, Bad Guy, & Teaser Poster

The promo push for for Shane Black's "Iron Man 3" is in high gear ahead of Tuesday's teaser trailer debut

USA Today has posted an article about the upcoming sequel that includes a half dozen new pics from the movie.

The story is based on the popular six-issue mini series "Extremis" by Warren Ellis--The plot involves the spread of a virus through nanobots. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will battle Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce's characters. Drew Pearce adapted the story into a script.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau Rebecca Hall James Badge Dale Ashley Hamilton William Sadler also star.

Marvel suit Kevin Feige says "We are again going to see him stripped down more than we've ever seen him since he was in that cave, again with his back against the wall and with nothing but his wits to help him survive"--Thanks in part to Kingsley's villain The Mandarin wiping out Stark's vast array of defenses.

Feige says "He [Stark] basically loses all of his toys and is forced to just use his mind to rebuild and to face his biggest enemy… Robert is in almost every scene, which, when you have Robert, is not a bad thing. The goal with Iron Man 3 is to again prove that all of our single heroes are as interesting alone as they are when they're all together in an "Avengers" movie"

The new Iron Man suit also has "a technology that allows him to basically have the suit arrive to him anywhere at any time, piece by piece…and it doesn't always work at first" says Feige.

Marvel has also sent out the first one-sheet, while EW has nabbed the first photo of Kingsley as the  'The Mandarin'.

In the comics he was a Chinese exile who used ten rings made of alien technology.

The film is more grounded and will not follow that same backstory. They're also blurring his heritage, Feige told EW that "It’s less about his specific ethnicity than the symbolism of various cultures and iconography that he perverts for his own end."

The film hits May 3rd 2013
