The L.A. Times reports that Christian Bale might be reuniting with "The Dark Knight" cinematographer Wally Pfister for his directorial debut "Transcendence",

Plot deets of Jack Paglen's script are being hushed for now.

Bale "has apparently been in Pfister's sights" for one of the three lead roles in the project.

Johnny Depp was linked earlier this week to the film as well

Marisa Polvino, Kate Cohen, Annie Marter, David Valdes, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove will produce.

Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers.

Pfister has worked on seven of Nolan’s films since "Memento" including his Batman trilogy and "Inception" for which he won an Oscar.

Production begins in Los Angeles early next year.
