"Man Of Steel" Lands On EW Cover

The latest issue of EW boasts a cover story about Zack Snyder's big budget reboot Superman: Man of Steel--and some fresh pics,

Snyder tells the mag that we will NOT see any Kryptonite in his film. Snyder says the story element has been used once too often.

Star Henry Cavill says that although the character "is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties."

Producer Charles Roven says we will see "building-smashing, train-slinging, heat-vision-blasting battles. You want to give the audience great spectacle. You want them to go to the movie, be eating their popcorn and be like, ‘Wow!. But it’s just not good enough to give them the ‘Wow.’ You want them to be emotionally engaged. Because if you just have the ‘wow,’ ultimately you get bludgeoned by that and you stop caring."

MOS also stars Amy Adams Michael Shannon Kevin Costner Diane Lane Antje Traue Christopher Meloni Harry Lennix Laurence Fishburne Russell Crowe and Ayelet Zurer. Bradley Cooper was said to be in talks to make a cameo appearance as Lex Luthor as a set-up for sequels. But that's not been confirmed. In fact, the folks at AICN now claim that Mackenzie Gray who played a Luthor clone during the final season of ‘Smallville’ will play "an ambitious, ego driven and cold version of Luthor." Emmy-winning actor Richard Schiff will play Dr. Hamilton. Cooper Timberline and Dylan Sprayberry both play young Clark Kent at various ages in the film. Jadin Gould is a young Lana Lang.

David S. Goyer wrote the first screenplay draft based on a story he concocted with Christopher Nolan. His bro Jonah Nolan taking a crack at the task as well Kurt Johnstad did rewrites

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas Deborah Snyder, and Nolan will be producers on the film.

MOS flies into theaters June 14th 2013.
