Shohreh Aghdashloo, star of House Of Saddam and House Of Sand And Fog has joined the cast of in the bio-drama film Rosewater says Deadline.
The film is based on Maziar Bahari’s memoir titled Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Capacity, and Survival that will tell the story of a journalist (Gael Garcia Bernal) assigned to cover the Iranian Presidential elections who ends up in captivity for 118 days.
Aghdashloo will play Moloojoon Bahari, the mother of the journalist.
Jon Stewart co-wrote the adapted script with the memior's co-author Aimee Molloy from which he makes his film directing debut.
Scott Rudin Stewart and Gigi Pritzker are producing the film.
Production will start soon in Jordan.
Bernal put a krimp in the timetable when he began demanding a much bigger payday
Stewart is taking a 12-week hiatus from hosting The Daily Show in order to work on the film.
Correspondent John Oliver will take over hosting duties for 8 weeks of that time.
