The story follows Manolo, a young man torn between his heart and his family's expectations. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his fears.
Ron Perlman, Ice Cube, Cheech Marin, Hector Elizondo, Placido Domingo, Ana de la Reguera, Kate del Castillo, Gabriel Iglesias, Eugenio Derbez, Ricardo Sanchez, and Danny Trejo also voice characters in the film.
Jorge Gutierrez directs the project from a script he co-wrote with Doug Langdale. Gustavo Santaolalla ("Brokeback Mountain," "Babel") will compose the original score.
Guillermo del Toro is producing and the film is currently targeting a release this time next yearyear.
