Benjamin Bratt Gets New Beat In "Ride Along 2"

Benjamin Bratt has been cast in the action comedy sequel "Ride Along 2" at Universal Pictures says Variety.

 

Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are going to reprise their roles as the quick-witted security guard (Hart) who has his eye on an an Atlanta cop's (Cube) sister. The new film has Cube and Hart's characters traveling to Miami.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will be back to pen the script for director Tim Story

Shot for just $25 million, the first Ride Along opened mid-January of 2014 to a record-breaking $41.5 million and stayed in the top spot for three weeks. It remains as one of the year's top films having  strong staying power and has made a highly impressive $117 million at home and more than $150 million dollars worldwide.

 Cube, Matt AlvarezLarry Brezner and Will Packer return to produce.

 Production hopes to begin soon to meet a January 15, 2016 release date.
