EW Travels Down "Mad Max: Fury Road"

The latest issue of EW gives us our first good look at George Miller's reboot of the Mad Max franchise "Mad Max: Fury Road".

Tom Hardy will star as post-apocalyptic drifter Max Rockatansky made famous first by Mel Gibson.

The plot sees Max get caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.

Aussies Megan Gale John Howard, Angus Sampson and Gillian Jones join Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Charlize Theron Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Adelaide Clemens also star. Aussie Supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw will make her acting debut in the pic.

The cover photo of Hardy as Max and the first shot of Theron as Imperator Furiosa is pretty sweet.

Miller says 'Fury Road' involves only a few digital effects and "even less dialogue," rather it's in "the crucible of very intense action, the characters are revealed."  In fact, the film really is just one big action set piece. Miller says: "I wanted to tell a linear story–a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes."

Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures have confirmed that has a U.S. release date of May 15th 2015.
