Cameras Roll On Nancy Meyers' "The Intern"

Andrew Rannells has joined the cast of the dramaedy "The Intern" says THR.

Nancy Meyers wrote the script and directs the story which centers on the owner of a successful fashion website (Anne Hathaway) who bonds with the elderly intern (Robert De Niro) her company has hired.

Workaholics creator and star Anders Holm is playing Hathaway's love interest in the film. Pitch Perfect and fellow Workaholics actor Adam DeVine will play the head of the interns in the film. Rene Russo, Nat Wolff Zack Pearlman and Linda Lavin will also star

Reese Witherspoon left the project over scheduling issues. Hathaway did a table read with De Niro and Meyers that went well.

Meyers is also producing the film, together with Scott Rudin and Suzanne Farwell.
Production has just begun. The film will be released on September 25, 2015.

The project was originally set up at Paramount Pictures with Tina Fey attached to star. Now it has become a fairly pricy $30 million dollar independently financed film
