David Harewood has joined the cast of the romance drama "Tulip Fever" says Deadline.
Based on author Deborah Moggach's book, set in 17th century, the story follows
the love affair between a man and a woman (Dane DeHaan and Alicia Vikander) at a time when Dutch painters were creating masterpieces and a
tulip bulb cost ten times the average annual salary.
Harewood will play Prater,
Amsterdam’s foremost tulip grower/dealer.
Judi Dench will play the Abbess of St. Ursula, Glee's Matthew Morrison is a drunken bohemian
artist and Victoria's Secret beauty Cara Delevingne will play Annetje his model. Prince Harry's ex Cressida Bonas will take on the role of Mrs. Steen, a merchant’s young wife.
Jack O'Connell, Holliday Grainger, Christoph Waltz and Zach Galifianakis also star in the film.
Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom) will direct using Tom Stoppard (“Shakespeare in Love”)'s adapted script.
Alison Owen will produce the film.
Production is currently underway in the UK
