Chris Hemsworth Could Be "Doc Savage"

A little nugget embedded in that THR article that announced "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" and "Iron Man 3" writer/director Shane Black is set to chart a reboot of Predator franchise at Fox we learned that Black met with "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth about leading another comic book film adaptation - 1930s pulp adventure hero Doc Savage.

One of the most popular characters of the pulps of the 1930s and 40s, Savage was also popularized on radio, film and television. He is a scientist, physician, adventurer, inventor, explorer and researcher. He has been trained since birth to be nearly superhuman in every way with outstanding strength, a photographic memory and vast knowledge and intelligence. He uses his skills and powers to punish evil wherever in the world he finds it.

Black actually wrote the script back in 2009 and signed on to direct the adaptation in 2010. Sony Pictures decided to allow Black to go off and make Iron Man 3 first.

Black co-wrote a script draft with Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry.

Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur are producing the film

Black has said in the past that whomever they get to play the Man of Bronze has to have a "perfect physical specimen," a man who exudes "symmetry and perfection". Hemsworth certainly fits that  description .
