"Edge Of Tomorrow" director Doug Liman is in talks to chart a remake of the 1981 World War II Soccer film Victory says THR.
The original film directed by John Huston starred Max Von Sydow, Sylvester Stallone, Sir Michael Caine, sports icon Pelé, Ossie Ardiles and Russell Osman. The story centers on allied prisoners of war interned in a German Pow camp who are forced to play a soccer match against a professional German team, all the while plotting their post-match escape.
Gavin O'Connor ("Warrior") is writing the adapted script for Warner Bros.
Bernie Goldmann and Gianni Nunnari are producing the film. Jon Berg and Racheline Benveniste are overseeing the film for the studio
Liman is also due to call action on the film adaptation of Ubisoft's video game "Splinter Cell" with Tom Hardy in line to star.
