Mark Wahlberg Thinks The "Entourage" Movie Deserves A Sequel

Attending the premiere for Friday's Transformers: Age Of Extinction in Hong Kong actor  Mark Wahlberg told  Access Hollywood that he just saw a rough cut of the upcoming film adaptation of the HBO series "Entourage". He is so happy with it he thinks they should not only move the film up from its current June 2015 release date, but they should also start planning for the sequel.

Series creator Doug Ellin wrote the script from which he directed. The film would continue to follow the Hollywood lives of actor Vincent Chase, his manager and agent, his under-appreciated TV actor brother and the childhood pal/driver who form his inner circle. The story starts six months after the TV series left off.

The entire cast is back- Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven.

Wahlberg:

"'Entourage,' I just saw the movie. It's fantastic. The stakes are so big. You're rooting for these guys to succeed. There's so much humor and heart in it and Doug just did an amazing job. I don't think we're going to be able to wait a year to release the movie. We're going to show the studio sooner, rather than later.  If it makes most sense to wait until June, we'll wait until June.I told Doug let's not wait for the movie to come out to start planning the next one because this is definitely going to be a big success. If I have anything to do with it there will be."

Billy Bob Thornton will play a billionaire cowboy-turned-film financier who sends his twenty-something son to keep an eye on things on set of the latest flick he’s financing - Vincent Chase's upcoming big-budget Dracula movie. Mixed Martial Arts fighter Ronda Rousey and The Sixth Sense and A.I. star Haley Joel Osment also star.

Perrey Reeves is to reprise her role of Melissa Gold, the long-suffering high-society wife of Ari. Constance Zimmer will return as Dana Gordon, an abrasive movie executive who often butted heads with Ari and, at one time, dated him. Rex Lee will reprise the role of Lloyd, the gay Chinese-American assistant to super agent Ari. Debi Mazar will reprise her role as sharp tongued publicist Shauna. Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton would play Vince's girlfriend in the pic. Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi will play Gold's new assistant. It seems Lloyd has been promoted to an agency rep in the film. Liam Neeson took time out of his "Non-Stop" to film a cameo as himself in the movie and was seen in Los Angeles shooting a scene with Piven. Model/actress Emily Ratajkowski, who appeared in singer Robin Thicke's controversial music video Blurred Lines, is set to play herself. Fellow model Nina Agdal is also said to be in the film.

The film has a June 12th 2015 release date--it's going head to head with "Jurassic World".

Warner Bros may end up moving the film to get it out of the way of the crammed Summer 2015 tentpole season. The challenge though is if the film can breakthrough and find to a mainstream  global audience

The show's overnight ratings for were a fraction of the numbers the cable net gets for shows like "Game of Thrones," "True Detective" and "True Blood". It also doesn't have that obvious demo appeal that something like the Sex and the City TV Series had.
