"Deus Ex" Movie Gets A New Writer

"Predators" writer Michael Finch has been hired to work on the script for the film adaptation the film version of the Square Enix video game "Deus Ex : Human Revolution" for CBS Films says  Heat Vision.

Set in the near future where human augmentation has triggered a technological renaissance, the story follows an ex SWAT security specialist named Adam Jensen who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.

Though launched in 2000, the franchise found new life and fans with 2011's "Deus Ex: Human Revolution". That game was not only a big earner but nabbed over 100 industry awards. As a result it will serve as the primary template for the film.

Finch takes over from "Sinister" scribes Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill . Derrickson was originally attached to direct as well but his commitments to "Doctor Strange" prevent that.

Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are attached to produce.
