Rose Leslie Nabs Female Lead In "The Last Witch Hunter"

THR reports that "Game of Thrones" actress Rose Leslie has joined the potential franchise launcher "The Last Witch Hunter".

The story follows one of the last remaining witch hunters (Vin Diesel) on his latest mission - wandering the streets of modern New York City forced to partner with his natural enemy, a female witch. The two must stop a villainous witch queen from obtaining a relic and unleashing plague upon humanity.

Leslie will play said witch and love interest for Diesel.

The screenplay was originally penned by Cory Goodman and has since had revisions by D.W. Harper and a polish by Melisa Wallack from which Breck Eisner is gonna call action.

Previously "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov was attached to direct and produce but he's no longer a part of the pic.

Diesel, Mark Canton and Bernie Goldmann will produce.

Production looks to start in Pittsburgh next month.
