Eva Green Eyes "Miss Peregrine"

The fetching Eva Green is in talks to star in the film adaptation of author Ransom Riggs' novel "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children” says Variety.

The story follows a teenager who finds himself transported to an island where he must help protect a group of orphans with special powers from creatures out to destroy them.

Green would play the title character, who acts as a guardian for the orphans.

Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class) is set to write the adapted script for director Tim Burton. Green previously worked with Burton in the 2012 movie Dark Shadows, which also starred Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter.

Peter Chernin is producing the film.

The movie is slated for a July 31, 2015 release
