He soon learns they are part of a mysterious test, and finds it is his destiny to join the ‘maze runners’ and lead them to freedom.

Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Will Poulter and Aml Ameen also star.

Originally slated for a February 14th 2014 release, Maze will now hit screens September 19th.

In 'Scorch,' the boys have escaped the maze but face an even more treacherous challenge on the open roads of a devastated planet.

T.S. Nowlin will write the adapted story under the supervision of Wes Ball, who directs The Maze Runner.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein Lee Stollman Joe Hartwick Jr., Wyck Godfrey Marty Bowen. Emma Watts Jason Young are producing .

Ball and some of the film's cast showed up during San Diego Comic-Con  at Hall H to debut a fresh trailer and scenes from the film. Towards the end of the presentation, Ball announced that development on the sequel was underway with hopes to start production as early as towards the end of the year should the first film be successful.

The panel followed a secret fan screening of the film which garnered enthusiastic reviews across social media.
