Trio Joins Michael Glatze Biopic

Zachary Quinto Chris Zylka and Emma Roberts have joined the biopic "Michael" says Variety.

The story is based on the life of Michael Glatze (James Franco) an anti-gay Christian minister from Wyoming. Bbefore he became a priest, Glatze was not only gay but was so entrenched in queer culture he founded a gay youth magazine.

Quinto and Zylka will play former boyfriends, while Roberts will play his current girlfriend.

The script is based on Benoit Denizet-Lewis's 2011 New York Times article titled My Ex-Gay Friend about Glatze.

Justin Kelly will direct the film.

Franco, Vince Jolivette, Michael Mendelsohn, Ron Singer and Scott Reed will produce, while Gus van Sant will executive produce.

Kelly says: "This isn’t just a story about an 'ex-gay'. It’s actually a very relatable story about the power of belief and the desire to belong."

Added Denizet-Lewis: “I’m excited that everyone involved in this project is intent on telling a story that captures the full breadth of Michael’s unusual life, from the inspiring gay leader I knew when I was young to the Christian pastor he is today.”
