The first teaser poster from Bill Condon's upcoming "Mr. Holmes" is here.
Set in 1947, Sir Ian McKellen plays a long-retired incarnation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. Holmes now lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper (Laura Linney) and her amateur-sleuthing son (Milo Parker). It's not a peaceful retirement though. The detective is haunted by an unsolved fifty year old case involving an angry husband and his unstable wife, a case of which he only remembers fragments.
Hattie Morahan ("The Bletchley Circle") co-stars while Young Sherlock Holmes star Nicholas Rowe will cameo
Jeffrey Hatcher wrote the adapted script from the novel by author Mitch Cullin.
Anne Carey, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Aviv Giladi will produce the movie.
The film is slated to premiere shortly at the Berlin International Film Festival ahead of a U.S. release sometime this Summer.
