French Fried

Can Juno director Jason Reitman (pictured) save Jim Carrey's career?

The pair are set to work together on the comedy "Pierre Pierre" as reported in Variety:

The politically incorrect story, deals squarely with racism, sexism and the Europeans. Carrey plays a self-indulgent French nihilist who is entrusted to transport a stolen Mona Lisa painting and in the process falls back in love with his homeland.

Carrey desperately needs a hit and while the upcoming CG enhanced Dr Seuss' Horton Hears A Who will provide an almost critic proof buffer for the actor-Working with Reitman may prove a smart move. After all, both Juno and Thank You for Smoking dealt with controversial subjects and yet proved popular with audiences.

Reitman is producing 2009's Jennifer's Body before moving on to"Pierre" as his next feature film.
