Rumors of a feature film based upon the hit TV series 24 have been around for years--Now EW says it's one step closer to happening

Studio suits Peter Rice and Kevin Reilly are in talks with Billy Ray (State of Play) to write a screenplay for the franchise that centers on Federal agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he fights to stop terrorist plots

Every season of this series has 24 episodes, with events occurring in real time following a consecutive hour in one very bad day.

Any movement on a film version may upon the show's future and whether or not it's picked up for up a ninth season.

The series is still one of my faves on the tube--I have very mixed feelings on this I just don't know if the real time format will translate all that well--unless of course it's a crisis solved in 2 hours.time
