Speaking to USA Today current Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels says Jackman has agreed to star in his next pic--the historical drama Selma.
The film will chronicle the Selma to Montgomery march of 1965 in the Alabama town that marked the political and emotional peak of the Civil Rights Movement.
“I have to really start casting the movie because we’re shooting it soon. The only person I’ve nailed in for sure is Hugh Jackman. It’s all over the place.”
In January Deadline Hollywood Daily had Robert De Niro attached to play Alabama Gov. George Wallace but he just agreed to star in Dark Fields
