Space Chaser

Warner Bros. is talking to the Japanese company Tatio to nab the film rights to the classic video game Space Invaders says The Los Angeles Times.

The game first appeared in 1978 as essentially the first 'shooter' game ever invented, followed the basic premise of a ship destroying increasingly fast alien invaders before they touch the ground. A feature film will have to expand considerably on that leaving the filmmaker a lot of leeway to tell whatever story they want.

Mark Gordon, Jason Blum and Guymon Casady. will produce.

The film follows the recent trend of other classic video games turned films currently in development.Ugh!

Not to be be confused with the comedy pic called Space Invader
