Since the Liam Neeson action sequel Taken 2 dominated last weekend's box office--making almost $50 million in the U.S. (doubling the opening weekend box-office of the first Taken in 2008), you know what that means? The producers want to keep the franchise going.
Chatting with Hollywood.com, screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen says talks have already started with the suits.
"We didn't start talking about [it] until we saw the numbers. But then we said, 'Oh, okay. I think we should do a third one.' And Fox wants us to do a third one."
The story for the next one will indeed be a challenge indeed. "We've taken everyone we can take. It's going to go in another direction" says Kamen.
Out doing press for the second film recently, Neeson was asked about the ending of the second film leaving the door open for a third one. "Do you think so? I don't think. I think we're finished. Mind you, I thought we were finished with the last one" he told The Coventry Telegraph.
