Theron Takes Remake Of Park's "Lady Vengeance"

An American remake of Chan-wook Park's 2005 film "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance" is in the works says Variety.

The story follows a woman who, for reasons of her own, completes a prison term for a murder she did not commit. She re-emerges to punish the killer and avenge the dead.

Charlize Theron is set to star as well as produce the film along with Beth Kono, Megan Ellison, Chelsea Barnard, Ted Kim and William Monahan. "Kingdom of Heaven" and "The Departed" writer

Monahan is also adapting the script.

The original is the third in Park's Vengeance Trilogy following "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and the highly acclaimed "Old Boy", the latter sees director Spike Lee currently remaking.
