Loretta Devine, Ali
Larter, and Jason Ritter have signed on to
star in George C. Wolfe's film adaptation of author Michelle Wildgen's novel"You're Not You" says THR.
Emmy Rossum plays an aimless and self-absorbed college student whose life is changed when she takes a part-time job caring for a woman (Hilary Swank) with ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
Devine will play
another Als patient who becomes friends with
Swank's character, while Larter will play
Swank's best friend. Ritter is portraying a man vying for the
affections of the college student, along with another man (Julian McMahon).
Marcia Gay Harden is co-starring as Rossum's mother, while Frances Fisher is set to play Swank's mom. Ernie
Hudson will play the husband of
Devine's character.
Josh Duhamel will co-star
Jordan Roberts and Shana Feste wrote the adapted screenplay
Swank, Molly Smith, Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are producing the film.
Production begins later this week in Los Angeles
