Skarsgård Swings On The Vine For Yates?

Frequent Harry Potter film series director David Yates has decided on who he wants to play the lead in the upcoming re-imagining of Edgar Rice Burroughs "Tarzan"-- "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgård says Variety.


Henry Cavill and Charlie Hunnam were also linked last week. A formal offer has not been made yet to Skarsgård though.

Skarsgård would play John Clayton III (the Viscount Greystoke) in this spin who is asked by Queen Victoria to investigate a conflict in the Congo.

Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly in discussions to play Civil War veteran and former mercenary George Washington Williams. The pair team up with Clayton to stop an evil warlord.

Craig Brewer was origibally tipped to yell action

Jerry Weintraub will produce the pic.

The pic is not to be confused with a  Motion Capture 3-D film re-imagining of the story starring Kellan Lutz
