Kay Shoots "6 Bullets"

Director Stephen Kay is set to helm the indie heist thriller "6 Bullets From Now" says THR.

The film is based on the infamous true story of the robbery of The Pierre Hotel in New York City
on New Year’s Day 1972. Five tuxedoed gunmen stole millions in cash and jewels, and it remains to this day the largest hotel robbery in history.

The film centers on a man whose life spirals out of control as he masterminds the perfect heist of the hotel vault.

Christian Darren wrote the script, which is said to capture the flavor of those classic 1970s heist films.

Tommy Alastra, Joe Mundo, Mark Rowen and Julie Rowen will produce.

Production hopes to begin by late Summer in New York City.
