Charlize Theron is circling the film adaptation of author Gillian Flynn's novel "Dark Places" says Deadline.
The story revolves around a woman who, at the age of 7, survived the massacre of her family and testified against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about it.
Amy Adams was in talks to star in May last year, but that is no longer the case.
Gilles Paquet-Brenner will direct from his adapted script.
Stéphane Marsil and Peter Safran are producing the film. Should Theron sign on, she would also produce as well.
Production is hoping to start in March.
