"Miss Sunshine" Helmers Proclaim "I'm Proud of You"

"Little Miss Sunshine" filmmakers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are set to direct a film adaptation of author Tim Madigan's memoir  "I'm Proud of You" says The Wrap.

The story follows a jaded and distracted husband and father who takes a newspaper assignment, writing a celebrity profile of children's television icon Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

From their first meeting in 1995, the pair became unlikely friends and stayed close until Rogers' death in 2003. Rogers, in turn, helped Madigan get over depression and heal his relationship with his father.

Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster are writing the adapted script.

Youree Henley, Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub will produce.
