THR reports that The Newsroom's Thomas Sadoski is in talks to join the film adaptation of Cheryl Strayed's memoir "Wild".
The story follows a woman (Reese Witherspoon) who falls into reckless and destructive behavior following her own divorce and the death of her mother. She makes a rash decision - to hike more than 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. In the process she reclaims her life.
Sadoski would star as the woman’s “ex-husband, who cares for her despite her infidelities.”
Fellow author Nick Hornby is writing the adapted script from which Jean-Marc Vallée ("Dallas Buyers Club") will helm.
Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea and Bill Pohlad will produce the film.
Production hopes to start this fall.
