Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter ("The Spectacular Now") wrote the initial script which Meyers then rewrote.
The project is stalled over casting issues. Meyers and Sony Pictures reportedly couldn't come to terms over who should star as the young American woman who falls for a prince.

The search for a new director now begins.
