Amy Berg Plans Sex Abuse Docu As Singer Story Explodes

"West of Memphis" and "Deliver Us From Evil" documentary filmmaker Amy Berg wants to talk to 31-year-old Michael Egan for her upcoming film subject about sex abuse in Hollywood.

A source for The Daily Mail says that Berg's company Disarming Films reached out to Egan last week for his participation in the project which Berg has been working on for two years.

According to their source:

"Just this week, I got a message from Disarming Films, a documentary film company working out of Los Angeles. They said they are making a documentary about a bunch of children molested by somebody in the film industry. I never contacted them back. They wanted videos and pictures of Michael and a few others he knew. The film company said they were working on numerous children, now adults, now coming forward about this."

Berg confirmed to the publication that she is working on the documentary, but declined to offer specific details. The project is not listed on the production company's slate.

Egan filed a civil suit against "X-Men Days of Future Past" helmer Bryan Singer as one of several defendants claiming allegations of sexual abuse that took place in 1999. Singer's attorney has called Egan's lawsuit "absurd and defamatory".

There's been a lot of back and forth since the initial story broke:
