It's a Small World Ride Becomes A Movie (Ugh!)

Deadline reports that "National Treasure" director Jon Turteltaub is set to helm a feature film based on the Disneyland ride "It's a Small World".

"The Lego Movie 2" scribe Jared Stern will write the screenplay after reportedly pitching a potential franchise-launcher ala the Pirates of the Caribbean film series to the suits at Disney.

The attraction has been around since the 1960s and consists of a boat ride past animated figures frolicking in miniature settings of many lands in what's called a "salute to the children of the world". It's also known for its catchy theme song of the same name sung by a choir of creepy looking animatronic children.
