Howard Charts "The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair"

Deadline reports that Ron Howard is attached to direct and produce a film adaptation of author Joël Dicker's novel "The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair".

The story follows a novelist who gets caught up in a scandal involving his beloved mentor, a heavyweight of American literature, when a 15-year-old girl is found dead in his backyard.

Howard, Brian Grazer, Claire Lundberg and Eugenie Grandval will produce.

Penguin will publish the novel in the U.S. next month following massive sales in Europe where it outsold author Dan Brown's novel "Inferno" (Howard is also working on turning that into a movie as well) and even challenged the erotic E L James book "Fifty Shades of Grey" on the charts.

Howard is now in post-production on the adventure pic In the Heart of the Sea
