Whaley & Glover Set To Take A Lap In "Monster Trucks"

THR reports that Frank Whaley and Danny Glover are joining Paramount Pictures' film adaptation of Hasbro's "Monster Trucks" toy line.

Lucas Till ("X-Men: First Class") and Jane Levy ("Suburgatory") star as a bad boy with a good heart, while Levy would play a character said to resemble a "high school version of Tina Fey". The plot is being hushed for now but the tone is said to be Transformers meets Gremlins.

Whaley will play Till's father, a man who's been drifting from job to job since leaving his son a decade earlier. Glover is a man who runs a junkyard.

Amy Ryan and Holt McCallany also star

Dylan Minnette and Nick Robinson were also previously linked for roles but have since committed to other projects.

Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger ("Kung Fu Panda") will pen the script from which  Chris Wedge ("Ice Age") is set to direct.

A  May 29th 2015 release date is eyed and production is slated to start this summer.
