Tom Welling, Others Join "The Choice"

Tom Welling, Alexandra Daddario and Maggie Grace have joined the film adaptation of author Nicholas Sparks' 2007 novel "The Choice" says Deadline.

The tale follows Travis Parker (Benjamin Walker) when he meets neighbor Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer) in a small coastal town. The story spans a decade of their love affair, which is ultimately tested.

 Welling will play Kevin McCarthy. an esteemed doctor at his father’s practice and who makes up the third corner of the love triangle following Travis and Gabby--Grace will play Travis' sister.

Bryan Sipe has written the adapted screenplay from which Ross Katz ("Adult Beginners," "Taking Chance") is set to direct

Sparks, Theresa Park and Peter Safran are producing the pic

This will be the eleventh Sparks novel to be adapted.

Production begins in October in Wilmington, North Carolina.
