City Dweller

Paramount Pictures has purchased the rights to the Lost City of Z-The New Yorker Magazine's David Grann's as yet unpublished manuscript about the search for a lost city in the Amazon according to Variety.

Brad Pitt will produce the film with the potential to star as well.

Grann's forthcoming nonfiction book offers up the tales of famed British explorer Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, who was attempting to find the so-called City of Z when he and his party disappeared in 1925. Over the next 70 years, different explorers tried and failed to retrace Fawcett's steps.

Pitt would play Fawcett.

The manuscript is scheduled to be published in February '09.
