The mag Entertainment Weekly says that Matthew McConaughey has been offered the role of Thomas Magnum in the film adaptation of the classic 80's television series "Magnum, P.I"-first made famous by fellow hunky actor Tom Selleck
The character is a former Naval Seal-turned detective who set up shop in Hawaii.
McConaughey is said to be considering taking the role based on a script from writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber ("Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story")
A decision from the man who rarely wears a shirt is expected shortly.
McConaughey certainly has the build for the role-but depending on the tone of the flick-is no Selleck.
A bigger problem for me is the fact that I totally hated Dodgeball--therefore I'm not too keen on Thurber's involvement here.
