Jude Law is close to starring opposite Robert Downey Jr. for Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" flick reports Variety.The actor is finalizing a deal to portray the 221B Baker Street sidekick Dr. John H. Watson.
Ritchie's film will take inspiration from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic novels and Lionel Wigram's comic book series which portrays the great detective as more of a man of action.
Downey Jr. has already been cast as the legendary sleuth.
Law is a solid choice but I liked the rumour aka idea of Russell Crowe in the role...
A 2010 release is scheduled.
