Comic creator Mark Millar's been very chatty lately...
He told the folks at G4TV that he and an unnamed director pitched a different take on a "Superman" film to the suits at Warner Bros..
"I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a The Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. One to be released each year.".
Millar adds they hope to get word over the next few weeks whether the studio decides to go with their version... they'd like to be shooting by next Summer.
Since the reboot plan was made official...I would not be surprised if Millar and the mystery director (Timur Bekmambetov?) were not in the lead to possibly take over...if Bryan Singer walks...
Millar then tells Newsarama that he will be contributing story elements to the upcoming sequel to "Wanted":
"What I will be doing is providing them with a very small amount of stuff for a story, and that will be used as a basic story that they can build from"
"It will be a small outline that can possibly be picked apart and not used - but it will be something exclusively for the second film, and no one will ever really see it."
What can fans expect from Wanted 2?
"It will be some of the stuff that we didn't utilize from the first book for the movie - like chapters three and four - there will be some stuff from that, so in the loosest sense it will be based on the book, but only very little."
As for the comics-Millar says he has no plans to continue or revisit it.
Makes sense especially if he ends up doing Supes X 3.
