Voices In Space

Fanboys take note...Sci-fi icons Darth Vader and Captain James T. Kirk will be appearing in a film together--sort of... Digimax, Inc.'s $10 million 3-D animated film "Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey " reports Variety.

William Shatner Chris Pine (pictured), James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen (pictured) will lend their voices to the cast of the independently financed film, made in conjunction with NASA, which centers on Dave (Pine), a photon who lives in the sun and who is drawn into a galactic battle between the Core (Shatner) and the Void (Mark Hamill).

The project uses both animated sequences rendered by the Taiwanese-based animation house with actual space imagery captured from seven ongoing space missions. The film will take the audience to the outer planets and moons of the solar system.

In the planning since 1996, production could not begin until the Cassini-Huygens probe reached its target and sent back its discoveries which were released by the space agency, enabling the film to proceed.

Samuel L. Jackson, Amanda Peet, Jason Alexander, Sandra Oh, Abigail Breslin, Spencer Breslin and astronaut Neil Armstrong round out the voice cast.

Harry 'Doc' Kloor and Dan St. Pierre calls action on this which will initially debut in IMAX in the fall of this year

One Word Neat...
