Feeling Loopy

IFC Entertainment announced yesterday at Sundance it has landed U.S. distribution rights to "In the Loop", a comedy about politics of both London and Washington, DC. says Variety



Directed by acclaimed British comedy writer, Armando Iannucci and written by Jesse Armstrong and )Simon Blackwell , "In the Loop" stars Tom Hollander, Peter Capaldi,and James Gandolfini,.

Telling the story of a mild-mannered British government minister (Hollander) who inadvertently backs a war on prime-time television, immediately alerting the attention of the Prime Minister's aggressive communications chief (Capaldi), who latches onto him like a hawk. Soon, the Brits are in Washington, where a US General (Gandolfini) thinks war is a crazy idea; the British minister's new advisor (Chris Addison) has his eye on an ambitious government intern (Anna Chlumsky).

The writers have a fine track record as creators of the popular British TV series The Thick Of It,

Loop had its World Premiere at Sundance on Thursday evening.

A plan to release "In the Loop" via Independent Film Channel's In Theaters program this year is in place.

IFC has been busy at the Fest...As always.
