Back (And On) Track

Actor Mark Ruffalo is going back to work on his indie directorial debut "Sympathy For Delicious" following the tragic death of his brother Scott last month and the film's star James Franco's exit due to other commitments.

The Hollywood Reporter says Orlando Bloom has instead signed on to play the lead singer of a tough rock band. Laura Linney will play the manager of the band, but the lead role in the movie goes to Christopher Thornton, a physically disabled theatre actor who also wrote the movie--

The story involves a paralyzed DJ, struggling to survive on the streets of L.A., who turns to faith healing and mysteriously develops the ability to cure everyone who's sick - except himself. The DJ then decides to cash in on his gift in exchange for his rock 'n' roll dreams.

Bloom will play the front man of a tough-as-nails rock band, while Linney plays as the band's manager.Thornton is the DJ, while Ruffalo will play a priest.

I am happy that Ruffalo is getting back to it--As someone who has also suffered tragic loss--getting back to whatever gives you joy can help with the long grieving process--Best wishes to cast and crew....

Production starts next week in Los Angeles.
