Universal Pictures scooped up an untitled Michael Gilio (pictured) script that will be developed as a potential film for Gore Verbinski to call action says Variety.
The drama focuses on a retired rancher who responds to a phone solicitation swindle that wipes out his savings.
"The script taps into the shaken trust the public has toward once-trusted institutions and examines how the people behind these institutions are sometimes themselves as much victims of the same blind trust," co-producer Jonathan Krauss told the trade
Verbinski, who is currently at work on the animated film Rango, will find time to fit this one in, even as he also preps Bioshock as well.
