Ben Foster and Donald Sutherland are set to join Jason Statham in the Simon West-helmed remake of "The Mechanic" says Variety.

Foster plays a young man who becomes an apprentice to a hitman (Statham). Sutherland will play the role of Foster's father and Statham's handler.

Production starts on the remake in several weeks in New Orleans.
