Conjure Up Some FX

Here's the first trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice...

Nicolas Cage is the sorcerer Balthazar Blake, who names young Dave (Jay Baruchel) his apprentice in modern-day New York City--Dave soon finds himself going up against the evil Maxim Horvath played by Alfred Molina.

The inspiration for the pic-- was a part of Disney's 1940 film classic "Fantasia": A sorcerer's apprentice, (Mickey Mouse), gets lazy and brings a broom to life to do the daily chores. That doesn't work as planned, so he brings more brooms to life, which cause more trouble...

Director Toby Kebbell calls action for the non animated version...

Looks better than I expected even with Cage carrying some of the load

The movie opens July 16, 2010.
