Alex Zamm will direct the film adaptation of the Looney Tunes classic toon character Marvin the Martian says The LA Times.
Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove, who have both worked on sit-coms Spin City and George Lopez. are writing the script that will see Marvin coming to Earth to try to destroy Christmas, only to find his plans are foiled when he gets trapped inside a gift box.
Marvin will be a CG character surrounded by live-action actors ala Alvin and the Chipmunks,", and a star will voice the character with Mike Myers a stong candidate.
Zamm is also signed on to direct Hong Kong Phooey the film version of the 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoon which will probably not get underway until 'Marvin' is complete.
Loved Marvin as a kid...Curious. What is it with Meyers voicing charaters connected to the color green?
'Marvin' is currently aiming for a Holiday 2011 release.
