Late author Stieg Larsson's bestselling Millennium trilogy is headed to the big screen says The Hollywood Reporter

The three books The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest were found after the author's death

The tales follow journalist, 'Mikael Blomkvist' publisher of Stockholm magazine 'Millennium'.

Losing a libel case brought against him by industrialist 'Hans-Erik Wennerström', Blomkvist agrees to be hired by 'Henrik Vanger', former CEO of the 'Vanger' companies, who offers to back the Millennium and reveal information about Wennerström's criminal activities.

After a chance run-in with 'Lisbeth Salander', a punk computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder, the unlikely couple form a classic detective pair, until the hunters become the hunted

Steven Zaillian is in talks to write the first script

Scott Rudin will produce.
