The Hollywood Reporter has news about the possible big screen return for author James Patterson's popular Alex Cross character.
Morgan Freeman was detective Cross in 1997's Kiss the Girls and its 2001 follow-up Along Came a Spider. This project is being developed as a reboot thing.
Patterson still owns all the rights to the character and is independently setting up the pic on his own.
Patterson wrote the new screenplay with Kerry Williamson (currently working with Darren Aronofsky on Breaking the Bank).
Hollywood is also developing Patterson's teen series Maximum Ride for the cinema.
