Devil Do-Over

Plans to reboot Marvel Comics' Daredevil for the big screen are underway reports Deadline Hollywood.

Ben Affleck played the hero in the 2003 film from director Mark Steven Johnson.

The $78 million film went on to a $179.2 million worldwide gross despite very mixed reviews. The R-rated Director's Cut with 30 minutes of extra footage was released in 2005 was a much better flick..

The Day the Earth Stood Still remake writer David Scarpa will pen the script.

Peter Chernin is producing the new pic.

Fox Co-chairman Tom Rothman stated that the goal is to get “real talent” on the project and that a reboot is not being made merely to keep the movie rights for the property (which are set to lapse soon).

What it really needs is a visionary at the level of Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight),” says Rothman. “It needs a director who has a genuine vision...”

Yeah, but the guy they hired to write the new pic already wrote a remake and that script/movie sucked big time...

The studio also has plans to reboot Fantastic Four as well.
